How to explain tragedy to your kids. Mister Rogers: When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, 'Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping. @ohbotherblog Now that I am a mom, I always wonder how I will one day have to explain tragedies like the one that occurred at the Boston Marathon today to Holden.

In the wake of the Newtown tragedy, The Huffington Post posted an article, "Mister Rogers 'Helpers' Quote Offers Calming Advice To Kids, Adults Alike In Wake Of Tragedy."

“When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, 'Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping,'" Fred Rogers wrote in the Mister Rogers Parenting Book.

Good advice to remember.
