Hi. My name is Meg. I’m mom to my curious little girl, Holden, and my handsome little man, Gatsby (I was an English major).

oh, bother. was created out of my struggle as a working mom in a Pinterest world. I’m a DIYer wannabe and creative design appreciator, but I usually find myself falling a bit short in the execution. You’ll see.

So I jumped on the bandwagon and bought The Elf on the Shelf.

Let's be clear: I'm fully aware that this is more for me than for Holden at this point. But I see all the adorable Elf on the Shelf Pins on Pinterest and it looks like so much fun.

Holden loves to read, so we busted out the book last night. She sat still for the entire thing and was able to point out Santa Claus and the Elf by the end. Then I introduced her to our elf, who we named Elfis (I went with that because she's currently obsessed with that horrible Ylvis video. Thanks, Nanny!).

She actually seemed to understand that she wasn't to touch Elfis. She waved to him and blew him a kiss goodnight; so sweet.

So now to figure out what fun we can have with Elfis. I found a cute post on fun things to do with The Elf on the Shelf for toddlers.

Any tips on fun things to do for wee little ones with the Elf?
